Care and Maintenance

Disconnecting the lemo cable from the back of the Video Otoscope or disconnecting the DC power adapter from the lemo cable is the only way to turn off the power to the video Otoscope. If you do not disconnect one of these the video Otoscope will remain on, and may burn out the image sensor. Turn the LED light on by pressing the silver button once. The distal end of the endoscope may become hot, caution when using on patients not to touch them with this surface.

Suggested Cleaning Procedure

Please use chemical solutions, which are designed specifically to sterilize instruments and devices. NEVER use ultrasonic cleaners, as these will damage the optical systems. Use an enzymatic solution together with a gauze cloth to clean each of the surfaces (distal end, proximal window, & fiber optic light connector). Afterwards rinse the endoscope thoroughly with distilled water. Repeat step one, but use isopropyl alcohol instead. Again rinse with distilled water. Repeat step one, but use acetone instead. Again rinse with distilled water. Check each surface with reflective light for foreign particles and scratches, which could have a negative effect on the image quality. See instruction manual for more detailed instructions.

General Notes On Device

Lemo cable connected to the capture card with composite cable. Unable to insufflate. Speculum adaptor easily comes off with removal of speculum. Focus generally makes an un-sharpened image, requires very fine adjustments to get a remotely sharp image. If LIMO cable left plugged in, danger of burning out camera. Battery handle keeps slipping off. Speculum adapter slips off when speculum removed. Focal ring tension excellent. Difficult to line up LIMO cable pins. Cable connection seems not very secure and somewhat fragile. Has a sturdy feel. Feels good in the hand while holding. Handle has to potential to reach 41° C
