Healthcare is in a period of profound change.  These changes are driven by technology, staff shortages, the need for improved outcomes, equitable access, and cost improvement.  The Crystal Ball Project asked a panel of telehealth industry experts to identify technologies that will have a significant impact on healthcare delivery over the next three to five years. The toolkit attached here discusses the findings of that panel and provides insight into seven key technologies that will impact healthcare delivery in the near future including:

  • Artificial Intelligence including machine learning and natural language processing

  • Expanded applications and use of telehealth/telemedicine

  • Solution platforms: APPs, electronic health record (EHR) integration/data management, bioWare/bioSensors

  • Virtual and augmented reality

  • Drones

  • Robotics

  • Hearables
