The right hand shot is generally within a macro shot distance range. The right hand image should display the true color of the skin, nails and hair visible, as well as any possible color variations found at the site. Acceptable depth of field in this image should allow for an overall high level of detail to be appreciated. Relief and contours should be able to be appreciated. The image should be free of shadows and specular highlighting, especially on the nail surface. This shot is best obtained with the camera parallel to the hand, and with the camera height at the same level as the focal point. This shot is best obtained with the fingers extended, hand draped, and hand braced to decrease movement.
